No Marathon on Sunday
Rumors on the fate of this year’s NYC Marathon have been flying around Twitter this afternoon, and NBC News just confirmed that Sunday’s race has indeed been cancelled.
It’s not hard to see why when viewing the series of pictures that BuzzFeed posted this afternoon of a Staten Island neighborhood near the marathon’s starting line. It’s difficult to imagine running the race so close to such obvious devastation.
