With the neighborhood still shaken by three attempted rapes which have taken place over the last eight weeks, another incident has been reported in nearby Prospect Heights, just north of Grand Army Plaza.

A woman was the victim of an attempted rape on Tuesday, July 12 at approximately 12:50am, the Daily News reported. The incident took place near the intersection of Park Place and Vanderbilt Avenue.

The victim was walking down Park Place while speaking on her cellphone when the suspect grabbed her shoulders. Officials say the woman fell to the ground after “she turned around to confront the attacker,” according to the Daily News.

The suspect jumped on top of her and tried to pull off her underwear. The victim began to scream, and the suspect ran off.

Police describe the suspect as Hispanic, between 20-30 years old, and approximately 160 lb.
