Nine Chains On Church Avenue Will Close This Sunday, March 1

We have sad news, neighbors: this Sunday, March 1, we’ll have to say goodbye to Nine Chains, the bakery that the folks from The Farm on Adderley opened at 1111 Church Avenue a little more than a year ago.

Tom Kearney, of the Farm on Adderley, wrote to us:

We decided to close retail operations because it’s simply too expensive to keep open. We love Ditmas Park but the volume of business wasn’t there to support a retail artisanal bread baking operation. We will continue to use the space for our original purpose, which was as a production kitchen for the concessions at the Prospect Park Bandshell. We’ve had the space for four years.
It was a fun and wonderful experience seeing that part of the neighborhood activated. We connected with so many great people.

You can bet we’ll be running to Nine Chains to stock up on whiskey ball bread, chocolate brownies, focaccia sticks – and pretty much whatever we can grab.

We’ll miss you, Nine Chains!
