Next Week: Take Back The Streets For National Night Out Against Crime

Next Tuesday, August 4, is National Night Out Against Crime, when more than 15,000 communities across the country join with their local police precincts to take back the streets from unlawful activity.

In New York City, station houses throughout the five boroughs will be hosting festivals, block parties, cookouts and other events meant to strengthen the relationship between residents and law enforcement. It’s an opportunity to mingle with the local patrolmen, politicians, and community leaders and enjoy free food and games. Neighbors will also be able to meet the 62nd Precinct’s new commanding officer, Captain Anthony Sanseverino.

This year, once again, the 62nd Precinct festivities will shut down Bay 22nd Street between Bath Avenue and Benson Avenue, from 6pm – 9pm.

Free food, including hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream, will be provided at the event. There will also be bounce houses, rides, raffle giveaways, dancing, and a DJ to keep the party jamming throughout the evening.

Check out these awesome photos from last year’s event, and see the flyer below for details.
