New Video Shows Person Of Interest In 2016 Red Hook Homicide

RED HOOK – The NYPD released new surveillance video last week showing a person of interest in connection with a 2016 homicide in Red Hook.

At approximately 4:30am on May 19, 2016, the body of 51-year-old Sharon Whigham, a mother of seven, was discovered in front of 110 West 9th Street. Police say a suspect slashed her throat and placed her on a bench. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident, police questioned Whigham’s boyfriend but did not charge him, the New York Daily News reported at the time. Whigham grew up in Red Hook and was a resident of the Red Hook Houses.
