New Owners And A New Look For 5th Avenue Deli

We noticed renovations were coming along at 513 5th Avenue Food, formerly My Favorite Deli and Grocery, so we decided to stop in to the 13th Street store and check out the new digs.

The interior is open and airy, with a wall for cold drinks along the side, and dry goods in the back. The prepared foods counter, which new owner Ali Alwae tells us will be completed in the next couple of days, will sell your traditional deli sandwiches.

This is the second 5th Avenue deli for Ali, who said that his family also owns the newsstand at 475 5th Avenue and 11th Street (shown below).
