New Life for Solo and Vox Pop?
Looks like two of the most talked about vacant commercial spaces on Cortelyou Road may finally be filled.
Neighbor Mike tells us that he spoke with people who were inside the old Solo space, on Cortelyou at Marlborough, last week. They told him they’re planning on opening a Mexican restaurant there.
“I thought the other Mexican restaurant on Cortelyou had that culinary genre covered, but I suppose the proprietors think otherwise,” Mike said.
Meanwhile at the old Vox Pop Space on Cortelyou at Stratford, the awning is still a mess–which led neighbor Gabriel to speak with a man standing outside of the space when the gates were rolled up the other day. The man said he was the realtor for the building.
“He told me that a new tenant had rented the space and promised to fix the awning,” Gabriel said. “He didn’t say who the new tenant would be.”
So that’s fairly promising, but we’re not holding our breath. Now to just get some new tenants for the old Avon space, and Irwin’s, the place next to Irwin’s, all those empty spots on the block with Vox Pop…
