New Daily Lunch & Brunch Coming To Two Area Restaurants

Two more restaurant options have recently become available to Fort Greene and Clinton Hill residents seeking a tasty midday meal–Marietta (285 Grand Avenue between Clifton and Lafayette) and Black Forest Brooklyn (733 Fulton Street between South Elliott Place and South Portland Avenue) have announced the addition of daily lunch and brunch services, respectively.

Black Forest Brooklyn has been serving an extended brunch menu on weekends since launching their Kaffehaus earlier this fall, but will now offer their bratwurst gravy and biscuits, brioche French toast, pork schnitzel with eggs, and other delectable dishes and drinks from 8am-4pm every day.

“We are so happy [Black Forest Brooklyn brunch] has been so well received,” the eatery said in an email late last week.

This is also the first full week of daily 11am-4pm lunch service at Marietta, whose culinary team has developed a whole new menu just for the occasion. Restaurant manager TJ is particularly excited about Marietta’s lunch bowls–Carolina Gold heirloom rice with sautéed mushrooms and kale, plus a choice of garlic butter shrimp, fried chicken, seared pork shoulder, or winter squash with pepitas–as well as a small serving of soup and salad on the side.

“We think this is a fantastic way to warm up and refuel for the rest of your day,” TJ says.

To celebrate their meal service expansion, Marietta is also offering one free “dine in” lunch this school week for Pratt students and faculty with valid school identification. Each diner must have his or her own Pratt ID.
