New Cafe In Town With A New Restaurant On The Way
Stolle Bakery & Cafe just opened up on Brighton Beach Avenue. The store is Stolle’s fifth New York location; there are two in Manhattan, one in Long Island City, and another in downtown Brooklyn.
The Brighton Beach location is more in line with the cafe’s Russian roots. Stolle originally opened in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2002. They expanded into Moscow, Kiev, and London before coming to the Big Apple, according to their website.
The cafe is in the corner storefront that used to house the Brighton Güllüoglu Baklava Cafe, which moved across Brighton 1st Place.
They only opened last weekend, so we will give them time to settle in before giving a formal review. Stay tuned!
You’ve probably seen this place getting ready to open up on Emmons Avenue and Batchelder Street. We haven’t gotten word on when Fil’s will be ready for business, but the exterior is looking rather complete.
They will have serious competition starting out. They are right down the road from heavy hitters like Randazzo’s Clam Bar, Liman, and Clemente’s Maryland Crab House. If Fil’s is going to focus on seafood, then they have their work cut out for them to stand out.
