Neil Diamond Announces He Will Play At Erasmus Hall High School Tonight
After announcing that he was planning a secret concert in our borough, native Brooklynite Neil Diamond said on his Facebook page this morning that he will perform tonight at Erasmus Hall High School (911 Flatbush Avenue), which he attended from 1954-56.
Thanks to neighbor Brett for pointing out this Brooklyn Vegan piece that reported the soon-to-be arrival of the superstar, who lived on Church Avenue as a kid (check out this video of Diamond walking around our neighborhood). Diamond, 73, who also lived in Brighton Beach as a child (and was recently expected to return to his home neighborhood as part of a documentary about his life, but fans said he never showed), will take the stage in his first-ever Brooklyn show at his old academic stomping grounds at 6pm tonight. Doors will open at 5pm.
According to Diamond’s Facebook page, a very limited number of tickets will be available for free starting at 3pm today. Fans are being asked that no lines form prior to 3pm.
