Neighbor Donna Sachs let us know that she has just launched a fundraiser to help her and others trap, neuter, and release feral cats in our neighborhood.

Donna, who has long been involved in the local rescue community, told us that Nancy Rogers, of the rescue group K9Kastle, has agreed to trap cats and kittens pro bono. Nancy will also lead this phase of what is known as the TNR (trap, neuter, release) project, which has included the trapping, neutering, and releasing of more than 30 cats and kittens in our area.

However, in order for the project to move forward, Donna said they are in need of funds.

“I have agreed to donate my time to trap these cats, but funds are desperately needed for surgeries and vet care,” Nancy wrote on K9Kastle’s Facebook page. “Any amount will be greatly appreciated. These cats are depending on us.”

Donna added that “TNR is fundamental to the well being of existing cat colonies and is vital to the public health of all communities.”
