Name That Plant: Sweet Autumn Clematis

Name That Plant: Sweet Autumn Clematis

You may have noticed these pretty climbing vines that just started blooming all over the neighborhood, and if you’re like me, you had no idea what they were. Thankfully local gardener Tracey Hohman sent in this photo of her bird feeder being taken over (check out the before pic!) by the plant, which she identifies as Sweet Autumn Clematis.

It’s in the buttercup family, it smells great, and it usually blooms in our area in September.

Taken a photo of something lovely in the neighborhood lately? Send it to ditmasparkcorner@gmail.com or add it to the Ditmas Park Corner Flickr group, and we’ll post it on the blog.
