UPDATE: Murder Before Christmas In Bedford Suyvesant

UPDATE 12/26 – NYPD released this video today and looking for three young men (17-18 years old) you can see in it. They are wanted in relation to the murder of Tahrim Applewhite.

Individual#1: was wearing a dark color hooded shirt, Khaki pants, and red sneakers.
Individual#2:  was wearing a dark color hooded shirt, gray jacket with strips and dark pants.
Individual#3: was wearing a dark color hooded shirt, and dark pants.

BEDFORD STUYVESANT – Tahrim Applewhite, 19, was shot and killed outside 520 Gates Avenue, just off Tompkins Avenue, in Bedford Stuyvesant yesterday, December 21, 2017, NYPD informs. Applewhite’s murder is the 5th murder this year in the 79th Precinct, there were 7 murders in the precinct last year.

Police responded to a call at 11:43 am, and found the young man with gunshot wounds to his right arm and stomach, lying on the ground. They believe he was riding a bicycle when he was shot. Tahrim was transported to Kings County Hospital, where he died from the injuries.

As of this morning, there are no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing. Police say Applewhite’s residence was in Auburn, NY, however, Daily News reports that he was a neighborhood kid, who had been part of Police Athletic League mentoring program.
