Windsor Terrace resident Billy Yee died in October from injuries sustained after being shot in 1982, according to the Medical Examiner’s office, and officials are considering whether to rule the incident a homicide.

Police found Yee around 2am on June 14, 1982 on Sands Street under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in Vinegar Hill within the 84th Precinct. He was found in a car with several gunshot wounds in his upper torso. He was transported to Cumberland Hospital and initially survived his injuries.

Officials at the time said the incident was a drug deal that had gone wrong.

In July 1982, Stanley Cho, who is from Ditmas Park, was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the incident.

Officials say the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office will determine whether Cho will be charged with murder.
