Morning Mug: Worldly Belongings
Shot in Sea Gate. From the photographer:
Peoples lives narrowed down to various stages of decaying mounds of memories and turds mixed with a little rain and cold temperatures.
On a related note, I, like most of you, am still trying to process what the hell happened here in Southern Brooklyn three weeks ago. Having been out of state at the time, when I left Sheepshead Bay on the last weekend of October, I didn’t think I would return back nearly a week later to the aftermath of a post-apocalyptic cataclysm.
To that end, for those who haven’t already seen it, Sheepshead Bites contributor Allan Shweky posted this video on Facebook of Sandy making landfall on Sea Gate. Fascinating, yet horrible, as it is to watch, it is easy to see how man-made structures are no match against the power of Mother Nature. For me, the real terrifying stuff is at the 3:14 mark.
Wishing continued strength to those who endured such unimaginable hardships…
