Monuments Shop Replaces Kosher Pizzeria On Jerome Avenue

Pizza is dead. Long live pizza.

The 1730 Jerome Avenue storefront that has for years been occupied by various kosher pizzerias is now a monuments shop, selling tombstones and other memorials “for all cemeteries.”

The shop opened up some time in the past week, taking up the storefront that’s been empty since July 2014 when Pizza by the Bay shuttered.

Pizza by the Bay lasted about a year, replacing Pizza Cardo, which itself replaced Benny’s Gourmet Pizza – all kosher.

Best of luck to the new business – just like accountants, at least they know they’ll always have a client base.
