Monster Skate Halloween Bash Kicks Off Ice Skating Season (Sponsored)

The LeFrak Center ice skating rinks open to the public on October 31, 2015.

The Samuel J. and Ethel LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park celebrates the grand reopening of its two outdoor ice rinks on October 31 with a Halloween party for all ages. The aptly-named Monster Skate Halloween Bash, held on the ice rinks from 12-6pm on Saturday, will feature Halloween-themed games and prizes and free 15-minute group lessons with advanced registration.

All Monster Skate Halloween Bash guests will enjoy a day full of games and activities on and off the ice, including Halloween Mini-Golf, Jack-o-Lantern Bean Bag Toss, and a temporary tattoo station. Attendees will also have the opportunity to preview Lakeside’s Skate School classes with two 15-minute introductory group lessons, free with advanced registration by emailing skate@lakesidebrooklyn.com.

The Monster Skate costume contest marks the highlight of the day, as participants will compete for a free semester of Skate School at Lakeside, valued at $165. Lakeside’s Skate School program, beginning November 2, features group classes designed to instruct, guide, and support students. Certified Skate School instructors lead each five- to six-week session and cater to every age and skill level, from novice skaters to polished pros. Costumed skaters will also receive 50 percent off admission and can enjoy the new seasonal menu at Bluestone Café.
