Monday Crime Blotter: Behaving Irrationally Inside Church, Assault, Robberies & More

BED STUY – The NYPD needs help searching for a man in connection to an assault that took place last Friday.

On January 25 at about 6:20 p.m., the suspect approached a 62-year-old man inside the lobby of 77 Tompkins Avenue. He began to punch and repeatedly kick the victim. According to the cops, the victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital for a fractured nose and a fractured orbital bone.

The suspect is 31-year-old Lytee Knox Hundley. A photo is attached below.

MAPLETON – The police need help to search for two men involved in a burglary that took place last week.

On January 20 at about 12:41 a.m., one man entered a bakery at 6305 20th Avenue. He had lifted the front security gate and went through the unlocked front door. He then stole $200 from the cash register while the second suspect stayed outside as a lookout.

Cops describe the first suspect as a 6’5” tall, 30-to-40-year-old Hispanic man with a thin build. The second suspect is described as a 20-to-25-year old Hispanic man, wearing a baseball cap under a hooded sweatshirt. Photos are attached below.

MAPLETON – The NYPD needs help searching for two men involved in a robbery that took place early this month.

On January 6 at about 10:30 p.m., two men walked inside Bobby Deli, located at 6520 18th Avenue. One suspect displayed a black revolver and demanded money from the 22-year-old employee. The other suspect was the lookout. The victim gave them a total of $400 in cash, which they took and left, walking eastbound on 66th Street.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect 1 – A 5’6” tall, 30-year-old white man, weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, glasses, blue jeans, a red bandana, and brown work boots.

Suspect 2 – A 5’8” tall, 30-year-old white man, weighing 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white hooded sweatshirt, white gloves, blue jeans, and black sneakers. A photo is attached below.

PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDEN – The NYPD needs help searching for a man who was behaving irrationally inside a church about two weeks ago.

On January 12 at about 8:45 a.m., the suspect went inside St. Francis of Assisi-St. Blaise Parish, located at 1081 Nostrand Avenue, and used the bathroom. He then smashed a potted plant on the floor and knocked over a St. Jude statue, which shattered into pieces. He then left and headed south on Nostrand Avenue.

Cops describe the suspect as a black man with a beard. He was last seen wearing a black knit cap, a black hooded sweater, a black jacket, black pants, and black sneakers. A photo is attached below.

BUSHWICK – The NYPD is looking for a man who robbed a young woman last week.

On January 22 at about 2:30 p.m., the suspect snatched a 21-year-old’s headphones from her head and ran off the Manhattan-bound J Train at the Gates Avenue Station. The victim chased after him and caught up to him near the turnstiles. As the woman grabbed the suspect, he shoved her off and ran out heading south on Quincy Street.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing a black jacket, a blue shirt, gray sweatpants, and white and gold sneakers. A video is attached below.

BROWNSVILLE – The NYPD needs help searching for two men involved in a robbery that took place early this month.

On January 5 at about 5:22 p.m., a 48-year-old taxi driver picked up two men at Liberty Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard in Queens. He dropped them off at 2024 Bergen Street. The men attempted to pay with a fake $100 bill, which the taxi driver did not accept. According to the cops, the suspects displayed a boxcutter and demanded money from the taxi driver. The victim gave them $65, which they took and left, heading east on St. Marks Avenue.

Cops describe the suspects as follows:

Suspect 1 – A 6’0” tall black man in his late teens or early 20s. He has a medium complexion and a medium build, with short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and light colored blue jeans.

Suspect 2 – A 5’6” tall black man in his late teens or early 20s. He has a light complexion, a slim build, black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt. A photo is attached below.

BOERUM HILL – The NYPD is looking for a man who touched a woman’s butt last month without her permission.

On December 3 at about 12:45 p.m., the suspect approached a 29-year-old woman from behind as she was leaving the subway station on Hoyt Street and Schermerhorn Street. He grabbed her butt and then headed toward Bond Street.

Cops describe the suspect as an adult black man, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black and gold jacket, a black knit cap, and dark pants. A photo is attached below.

EAST FLATBUSH – The NYPD needs help searching for a man that went missing last week.

70-year-old Joseph Paul was last seen in his house at Remsen Avenue at about 11 a.m. He is described as a 5’6” tall black man, weighing 180 pounds. Cops say he has salt and pepper hair, is balding and has brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt and khaki pants. He only speaks Creole. A photo is attached below.
