Monday Crime Blotter: Escaped Prisoner, Cop Selling Pot, Subway Assault & Missing Person

BOERUM HILL – The NYPD needs help searching for a person who escaped Department of Homeless Services Police custody over the weekend.

On Saturday, January 19 at about 5:26 p.m., 31-year-old Jose Bisono was being transported to Brooklyn Central Booking by officers from the Department of Homeless Services when he pulled away from the officers and ran toward Smith Street.

Cops describe 31-year-old Bisono as a 5’9” tall Hispanic man weighing 185 pounds. He also has black hair and was last seen wearing a black and white jacket with gray pants. The last time he was seen, his hands were cuffed behind his back. A photo is attached above and a video is attached below.

BUSHWICK – An NYPD cop was arrested after he was caught selling marijuana.

On Friday, January 18, at about 5:25 p.m., investigators found 42-year-old Gilberto Mercedes, who was off-duty, with a ziplock bag of weed inside The Neighborhood Liquor Store between Knickerbocker Avenue and Cornelia Street.

Mercedes, who has been a cop for 14 years, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal sale of marijuana, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

CROWN HEIGHTS – Police need help searching for a young woman that went missing last Friday.

17-year-old Charisma Wright was last seen leaving her house in St Johns Place at 7 a.m. on January 18. She was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers, and was carrying a black backpack.

Cops describe Wright as a 5’7” tall black woman weighing about 120 pounds. A photo is attached below.

WILLIAMSBURG – Police need help searching for a man they believe assaulted a 67-year-old man on the L train last week.

On Saturday, January 12 at about 6:35 p.m., the suspect approached the man onboard the southbound L Train heading  approaching Graham Avenue Subway Station. The suspect punched the man on the face once. As soon as the doors of the train opened, the suspect fled out the train and headed in an unknown direction.

The victim suffered injuries to the inside of his lip, got a chipped tooth, as well as swelling and burning to his left cheek.

Cops describe the suspect as a 35-to-45-year-old black man with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark blue coat, a dark blue ski cap, dark jeans, and white headphones. He was also carrying a white plastic bag. A video is attached below.

PROSPECT PARK – Police have made an arrest in the attempted rape that took place last Thursday.

To recap, on January 17 at about 1:15 a.m., a man tried to kiss a 27-year-old woman after she boarded the 4 Train heading north to Franklin Avenue. The victim pushed the man away, but he grabbed on to her until she fell on the floor of the train.

As the victim got up from the floor, the suspect pulled her pants down and sexually assaulted her with his fingers, cops say. The victim moved away from the man as he continued to touch her genitals. The suspect then held both of the lady’s arms and removed $47 from her cell phone’s wallet case and her headphones. When the train arrived at the Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center stop, the suspect ran out of the train and jumped into the tracks. The woman tried to follow him but lost sight. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect is 37-year-old Daniel Jean-Pierre. He has been charged with attempted rape, two counts of robbery, criminal sexual act, two counts of sexual abuse, forcible touching, petit larceny, and assault.
