The new restaurant from the owners of Bogota Latin Bistro will be opening this month, according to a pic they posted on Instagram.

Miti Miti Taperia will open at 138 5th Avenue, between Douglass and Baltic Streets and just up the avenue from Bogota, in the former Vodoo Lounge space. With a name that comes from the Spanish slang for “half and half,” the focus will be on small and large plates that are meant to be shared.

“The Miti Miti experience is meant to evoke not just sharing of food, but sharing of good times, laughter, joy, friendship, great conversation, and memories,” they recently wrote about the new space. “Yes, the concept will be different but the values that have made Bogota Latin Bistro a popular dining destination both within and outside of the community will remain the same.”

Recent photos posted to their Facebook page show the space looking much different than its former Voodoo days, with the dark interiors swapped for a lighter look, and a large, Brooklyn-centric mural going in.

We’re looking forward to checking out the new spot, and will keep you posted on an opening date.
