Mercedes Driving Robbers Offer a Ride, Then Flash a Badge and a Gun
BROWNSVILLE – Police are looking for two men who flashed a badge and a gun before robbing a man of his cash, all while pretending to give him a ride home.
On Friday, November 3, the 39-year old victim was walking home in the early afternoon, when a black Mercedes SUV stopped near the Chase Bank at Pitkin and Rockaway to ask him for directions. The occupants of the vehicle then offered the man a ride, which he accepted, said police.
The two men drove the victim to another location, where the driver pulled a gun and the passenger displayed a shield, demanding the victim’s money. The victim handed over roughly $600 cash and the robbers dropped him off unharmed at Prospect Place and East New York Ave, said police.
The suspects and their vehicle were caught on security cameras, and the driver has been described by police as an Asian man in his forties, about 5’10” and 200lbs., with black hair and a medium complexion.
