Meet Local Author Josh Farrar At The Cortelyou Library This Saturday

The Cortelyou Library Friends are teaming up with neighborhood author Josh Farrar to celebrate the release of his new book, A Song for Bijou. The middle-grade novel is set in Ditmas Park, and tells the story of a Alex Schrader, a born-and-raised Brooklyn boy, and Bijou Doucet, a girl who recently moved to the US after the earthquake in Haiti.

The event will be held at the library (1305 Cortelyou Rd. on the corner of Argyle) on Saturday, April 27 from 3-5pm, and will feature a reading and signing by Josh, Haitian drumming and dancing with Morgan Zwerlein and Shirley St. Fort, reggae songs by Ossie Dellimore, a writing activity with Ibi Zoboi, and traditional West Indian food.
