Map Shows Toxic Sites Around South Slope
If you like cool maps and you’re curious about what potential health hazards might be right below your feet, you’ll love this one of toxic sites by Property Shark, which Gothamist noticed yesterday. It shows where there are fun things like brownfield sites, leaking tanks, gasoline spills, and more things that will make you consider investing in a hazmat suit.
And if you want to go down the map rabbit hole, check out all of their maps here, which includes the somewhat less bleak 311 service requests layer. In addition to some dirty streets on 4th Avenue and 16th Street, it looks like a number of our neighbors across the map are complaining about their apartment heat (or lack thereof).
