A man’s remains were found last week inside of his mother’s home in Midwood, according to police.

A relative found the body, or what was left of it, at 2111 Avenue N (and East 21st Street) on Thursday, September 15, at around 1:30pm while getting belongings for the mother, who had fallen and been hospitalized, according to a report by PIX.

The dead man, whose name hasn’t been released, was a livery cab driver, and would have turned 51 last week. He was terminally ill, and is believed to have died of natural causes, according to the Daily News.

He was last seen in 2008, after getting into a car accident, according to PIX.

One of the man’s relatives told police they hadn’t seen him in 20 years, according to the Daily. A neighbor told the Daily that the mother is a “recluse.” The neighbor also mentioned a tan Ford Explorer that has been parked in the driveway for years without ever moving.

“She never said hello. She always walking down the street with a grocery bag,” the neighbor told the Daily. “She would walk looking down. Something about her always seemed a little weird.”

The cause of death hasn’t been determined by the Medical Examiner yet.
