[UPDATED: Monday, December 11, 2017 at 3:30pm] Police and FBI swarmed the vicinity around 679 Ocean Parkway earlier today, where suspected subway bomber, Akayed Ullah, is believed to live.

A woman who didn’t want to be identified told BKLYNER that she saw the cops come out with an elderly woman in a head scarf earlier this morning.

“It’s terrifying to know that someone literally around the corner from where you live is a terrorist, who wants to take lives,” said Michelle Hobgood, a resident of Parkville Avenue. “It’s disheartening. This is a really nice neighborhood. But then again, you can’t automatically assume a neighborhood is safe just because it’s quiet.”

See photos below of the scene this morning at the intersection of Ocean Parkway and Newkirk Avenue. BKLYNER will continue to update as the story develops.

This morning a pipe bomb went off at Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. The suspect carrying the bomb has been identified as 27 year old Akayed Ullah from Brooklyn, and has been taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

According to authorities, he came from Bangladesh to the U.S. seven years ago.

As of 9:30 a.m this morning, helicopters have been flying above the Kensington neighborhood, where the suspect might have lived.

We are out reporting and will be updating as the story develops.
