Man On Scooter Hit By SUV On 4th Avenue
A man riding a scooter was struck by an SUV on 4th Avenue Wednesday morning, but thankfully he is expected to be okay.
According to police, at about 8:30am a 2010 SUV turning from 4th Avenue onto 5th Street collided with the 39-year-old man, who they say was operating a motorized scooter. EMS responded and transported the victim to Methodist Hospital — the NYPD says he is in stable condition, and that no other injuries were reported in the crash.
Brooklyn News 12 was at the scene as the rescue crew freed the man from underneath the SUV — they report that the man was dragged several feet by the car before it came to a stop at a scaffolding.
The driver remained at the scene, and no arrests were made, though the NYPD says the investigation is ongoing.
