Man Punches 63-Year Old Greenpoint Resident, Steals Purse and Phone
UPDATE 11/4/17: Police have released security footage of the suspect and an accomplice, who stood as lookout during the attack:
GREENPOINT – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the perpetrator of a violent robbery in a Greenpoint residence this week.
The incident took place on Tuesday, November 28, around 10:30 pm, as the female victim was entering her residence in the area of Morgan Avenue and Sutton Street. Police said the suspect approached her in the lobby, then punched her in the face with a closed fist, knocking the 63-year old woman to the floor.
The thief then stole the victim’s purse, containing about $40, and her cellphone, fleeing on foot in an unknown direction, said police. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for her injuries and released.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, dark sweat pants and gray, white and black sneakers.
