Man Killed, Pregnant Woman Wounded In Bed-Stuy Shooting On Saturday

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT – A 34-year-old man was killed and a 26-year-old pregnant woman was injured during a shooting that took place early Saturday morning.

At approximately 1:45am on Saturday, October 7 police officers responded to a call in front of 6 Albany Avenue (between Decatur and Fulton Streets) where they found an unconscious and unresponsive man with gunshot wounds to his torso, the NYPD report. A second victim, a woman who is approximately seven months pregnant, according to the New York Daily News, was also found at the scene with a graze wound to her abdomen.

EMS transported both victim to Kings County Hospital where the man was pronounced dead. The woman is listed in stable condition. Her baby was not harmed, according to the Daily News article.

The paper identifies the deceased victim as Chaz Manuel, a father of three.

No arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing.
