Man Hit and Killed by Street Sweeper on Flatbush Ave

An unidentified man in his 40s was struck and killed by a NYC Sanitation street sweeper at the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues at about 1am this morning, according to the NYPD.

Police say they responded to a call of a pedestrian struck and found the victim with trauma about the body. EMS transported the victim to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced DOA. Upon further investigation, police determined that victim was struck by a street sweeper traveling northbound on Flatbush Avenue just before the intersection of Atlantic. Police say the operator of the street sweeper remained on scene and there is no criminality suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
