CONEY ISLAND – The NYPD is investigating the death of a man found outside of a Coney Island supermarket over the weekend.
At approximately 10am on Saturday, September 9, police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious male in front of 2901 Mermaid Avenue where the Fine Fare Supermarket is located.
When police arrived, they found an unconscious and unresponsive 35-year-old male at the location. EMS responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to the police.
A police representative says there was no trauma found on the victim’s body. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
The identity of the man has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.
