Man Found Dead Behind Brooklyn NYCHA Building
BEDFORD STUYVESANT — Police are looking for suspects involved in a shooting that resulted in a dead body behind Marcy Houses in Bedford Stuyvesant.
NYPD officers found Deshawn Smart, 47, after responding to a 911 call at 474 Marcy Avenue on March 16, 2019, just before 9:30 am.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Smart, of Red Hook, unconscious and unresponsive. The victim lay next to a Citi Bike, with a gunshot wound to the torso. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
There have been 28 shooting homicides in Brooklyn this year, according to NYPD.
