BEDFORD STUYVESANT — A 26-year-old man was shot to death as he was entering a waiting Uber SUV on Bedford Avenue near Greene Avenue in Bed Stuy last night, bringing the homicides in Brooklyn to 25 for the year so far, up from 9 this time last year.
The victim, who was alone was identified by police as Jorge Vasquez of Halsey Street. Police say he was boarding the Uber while carrying a bouquet of flowers which was still sitting on the seat of the Nissan Rogue with the unidentified driver at the time of the shooting, 11:24 p.m.

One round was lodged in a vehicle across the street in front of the Pilar Cuban Eatery, where workers said customers and staff were still inside at the time of the shooting. Staff in the restaurant said they did not see how the shooting occurred.
