67-Year-Old Long Island Man Killed on 18th Street
UPDATE 11:26pm: The NYPD reports that they responded to a report of a robbery at 260 18th Street at about 7:15pm Wednesday, where they discovered a man identified as 67-year-old Jesus Morales of Merrick, Long Island, with head injuries. He was transported to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say that an unknown suspect shoved the victim onto the floor causing him to strike his head on the pavement. There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
8:11am: The Post notes that he was apparently at the address to buy a car. Additionally, we’ve learned that Jesus was the owner of Ramirez Travel, located on 5th Avenue near 16th Street. According to their website, he started the parent company in 1972.

11:18pm: According to the NYPD, a man was assaulted this evening on 18th Street, but they were unable to provide more details about the incident. Here is what we’re hearing from people in the area, all from around 9:30pm:
