Man Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Two Women, Threatening Teen, In East New York Tuesday Morning

EAST NEW YORK – The NYPD have arrested a 26-year-old Queens man who they say sexually assaulted two women at gunpoint, and threatened a teenage girl, within a two-hour span Tuesday morning.

The first attack occurred at approximately 6:50am on Tuesday, October 10 on Fountain Avenue near Linden Boulevard, according to Pix 11. The suspect, Keith Wiggins, reportedly approached a 29-year-old woman on her way to work, displayed a gun, and forced her behind a truck where he raped her.

At approximately 7:19am, Wiggins approached a 15-year-old girl on Lincoln Avenue near Sutter Avenue. He showed the girl a gun hidden beneath his shirt and said, “I will shoot you,” Pix 11 reported. The teen was able to run away and call the cops.

Wiggins struck again at approximately 8:30am when he sexually assaulted a 26-year-old woman in the lobby of her building, the New York Daily News reports.

A witness at the last incident saw Wiggins flee in a 2017 black Dodge Caravan with Florida license plates, according to the Daily News. Police were able to track the vehicle to a Hertz location near Wiggins’ home and captured him when he went to return the rental car, the paper reports.

Wiggins, a four-year military veteran and student at Queensborough Community College was identified by two of his victims, according to the Daily News. He is being held without bail and faces up to 25 years in prison on charges of rape, a criminal sex act, sex abuse, burglary, menacing, and endangering the welfare of a child.
