Man Arrested in Bushwick Hit and Run

BUSHWICK – Early in the morning on Labor Day, an allegedly intoxicated man drove his car onto a Bushwick sidewalk, slamming into gathered pedestrians.

Naquan Ricks, 23, was charged with seven counts of reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, vehicular assault, driving on the sidewalk and DWI, said police.

The accident took place around 5:00am on Monday, Sept 4, in front of 1185 Halsey Street in Bushwick, near Irving Square Park. Ricks drove his 2007 Infinity sedan onto the sidewalk and struck several pedestrians before continuing on, said police, who caught up to the suspect nearby.

Four pedestrians were transported to local hospitals, where they were treated for minor injuries, said police.
