Man And Woman Arrested For Possession Of Loaded Firearms, Drugs

A man and woman were arrested on drug and weapon possession charges last week.

On Thursday July 30, at approximately 4:45pm, officers from the Brooklyn South Gang Unit executed a search warrant based on a confidential tip, and discovered the pair to be in possession of two loaded firearms in an apartment building located on 82nd street, near 23rd Avenue, according to NYPD sources.

Jonathan Lind, 29, and Amanda Lopez, 26, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of weapon 2nd degree, criminal possession of weapon 3rd degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, said police.

Cops say Lind was also seen operating a motorcycle on the sidewalk in front of the building, prompting officers to slap him with reckless endangerment and aggravated unlicensed operator charges.

The arrests come less than a week after gunshots were reported on the corner of Bay Ridge Parkway and New Utrecht Avenue, striking a neighbor’s car and a second-story window.

Despite these recent incidents, recent data revealed the 62nd Precinct to be one of the safest in the city when it comes to gun violence and other crime.
