Making The New York City Marathon Look Easy

Congratulations to neighbor Lela Moore for completing the New York City Marathon! Lela was one of 50,564 people who finished the strenuous race – the largest marathon in the city’s history.

We’re loving these photos of Lela, taken by her crowd of supporters (the first one is by her dad, Hugh Moore, and the second by Michele Drislane) – and they certainly make running the 26.2 mile course throughout the five boroughs look pretty darn fun. Maybe Lela will inspire us to do it one of these years…

Let us know if you got any photos of yourself running in the marathon, and we’ll post them to the blog! You can also see some great collection of photos from the event at the Daily News and Gothamist.

Update: Many thanks to neighbor Bekky Robbins sent us these fantastic photos (taken by Cathy Bechler) of her seeing friends cheering her on while running in the marathon!

“I was so excited to run the marathon on Sunday despite the cold and wind!  Glad to see Ditmas Park representing!!” Bekky wrote to us.

Share photos with us at editor@ditmasparkcorner.com, in the Ditmas Park Corner Flickr group, or tag them #ditmaspark on Instagram, and we’ll post them on the blog. Also, like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram, and subscribe to our daily newsletter!
