Making Movement Dance, Making Dance Move (Sponsored)
I’ve never outgrown the urge to run, leap, laugh, and eat up every expansive ounce when stepping into an open space. This, coupled with my natural musicality, led my mother to enroll me in my first dance class at age four. Since then, dance has fueled my life with exhilarating purpose. Whether perfecting my placement in a mirror, flying through the air with the music underneath me, or standing tall under the bright lights in a grand theater, studio and stage have been the classrooms in which I’ve learned life’s most valuable lessons.
I’m Alden LaPaglia.
Last January — with the help of so many of you — a lifetime of hard work came together in the opening of a home base for my dance company, Alden Moves Dance Theater. Conceived as a playground for the arts, Studio 1203 is a multi-functional space on Church Avenue perfect for classes, rehearsals, parties, and performances. Old world charm makes students, artists, and audiences feel like a part of something — and they are! With toddler through adult programming, the whole family can discover — or revisit — their joy of music, movement, and dancing.
Our fall semester begins this week, and Nutcracker auditions are September 27.
