Make Your Street The Star In The 2nd Annual On My Block Filmmaking Challenge
Attention aspiring filmmakers and neighborhood lovers: On My Block Films is kicking off its second annual filmmaking challenge starting Monday, July 1. All New York City residents are invited to create a one- to three-and-a-half-minute-long short narrative or documentary film on their block using only residents of the block as cast and crew.
All eligible films will be posted and screened online until October 31. Viewers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite short film during that time, and a panel will judge the 40 films with the most votes, then the top 20 films will be entered into the festival and screened at an awards event November 11 at the SVA Theater, where they’ll have a chance to win one of several awards.
