Lucy Liu Visits Coney Island Precinct To Film CBS Show ‘Elementary’

Actress Lucy Liu popped into Coney Island’s 60th Precinct Monday to film a scene for the CBS show Elementary.

The TV crime drama is a modern adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes series. Liu’s character, Dr. Joan Watson, is the loyal sidekick to Homes, played by Johnny Lee Miller. The show centers around Holmes, a recovering drug addict, as he helps the NYPD solve crimes.

Interactions between police and the film crew on Monday were pretty limited, said Lieutenant Peter O’Neill, who works at the station house. However, Liu did pose for a photograph with the precinct’s commanding officer, Deputy Inspector William Taylor, which was posted on Twitter.

“The film crew just asked to use the bathrooms every so often and that was pretty much it. They didn’t have any interactions with the police officers other than having a photo taken with Inspector Taylor,” O’Neill said. “Everything seemed to be cordial.”

This isn’t the first time Elementary has chosen to film in southern Brooklyn. In August, they shot a scene along the F line on Shell Road.
