Lucky 13 Saloon To Open In New Gowanus Space On Halloween

Anyone looking for the traditionally wild Halloween party at Lucky 13 Saloon this weekend will find it — it’ll just be a bit further north than it’s been for the past decade.

The metal bar, which opened at 273 13th Street just off 5th Avenue in South Slope in 2003, closed after one last round of drinks and go-go girls this past weekend.

“Death is ruled by Scorpio (the sign of ‘sex, death and taxes’) and the number is 13, sacred to the Goddess as there are thirteen moons in a year,” they wrote on Facebook. “Death is the ultimate purifier. All things are reborn fresh, new and pure.”

The bar is, as such, being reborn in Gowanus, a plan they announced over the summer. Their new, larger location at 644 Sackett Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues, will open tonight — just in time for some Halloween fun.

The 11th Annual Halloween Extravaganza is taking place tonight, Friday, October 31 from 9pm-4am. Look out for performances by Eat, Eyes of the Sun, and Inhuman (doing Misfits covers!), a costume contest with bar tab and cash prizes, and, of course, their infamous go-go girls rocking out on a new 10-foot pole.

There’s no cover, but it is 21-plus, so bring some ID, wear your best costume, and welcome them to their new space!
