Lotteries Open For Affordable Units In Bed-Stuy And Downtown Brooklyn
BED-STUY – Applications are being accepted for affordable housing units at 27 Albany Avenue in Bed-Stuy and 210 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn.
Located on the corner of Fulton Street, 27 Albany Avenue is a newly constructed, ten-story, 50-unit building with twelve affordable units available. Applicants should earn 80% of the area median income (AMI).
For the five one-bedrooms available at $1,230/month, the annual household income for a single person is $44,126—$53,440, while a couple can earn between $44,126—$61,120.
For the seven two-bedrooms at $1,486/month, the annual household income is between $52,938—$61,120 for a couple; between $52,938—$68,720 for three people; and between $52,938—$76,320 for four.
Amenities in the building include a fitness center, residents’ lounge, landscaped terrace, bike storage, washer/dryer in each apartment, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a parking lot (for an additional fee).
Preference will be given to current residents of Brooklyn Community Board 3 (Bedford-Stuyvesant) and municipal employees. A percentage of units are set aside for applicants with mobility and vision/hearing disabilities.

The lottery launched yesterday for 74 affordable units at 210 Livingston Street located on the corner of Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn.
The 26-story building contains 394 apartments in total, according to StreetEasy and features a 24-hour doorman, on-site resident manager, elevator, and laundry room. For additional fees, residents can also have access to bike storage, a storage room, fitness center, residents’ lounge, game room, business center, outdoor terraces, and on-site parking.
Applicants should earn 60% of the area median income (AMI).
For the 22 affordable studio apartments available at $947/month, the annual household income for a single applicant is between $34,355—$40,080.
For the 34 one-bedroom units available at $1,017/month, a single applicant should earn between $36,823—$40,080 and a couple between $36,823—$45,840.
For the 18 two-bedrooms available at $1,230/month, the annual household income is $44,160—$45,840 for a couple; $44,160—$51,540 for three people; and $44,160—$57,240 for four.
Preference will be given to current residents of Brooklyn Community Board 2 (Boerum Hill, Bridge Plaza, Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO, Farragut, Fort Greene, Fulton Ferry Landing, Vinegar Hill, and Wallabout) and municipal employees. A percentage of units are set aside for applicants with mobility and vision/hearing disabilities.
