Lotteries Have Launched For Affordable Units In Bed-Stuy & South Slope

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT/SOUTH SLOPE – Applications are now being accepted for affordable housing units at 869 Park Avenue in Bed-Stuy and 198 19th Street in South Slope.

First up, nine one-bedroom apartments are available at 869 Park Avenue, a newly constructed building located between Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Broadway. Rent for the one-bedroom units is $985 a month.

The annual household income requirements are between $33,772 to $40,080 for a single applicant and between $33,772 to $45,840 for a couple.

Amenities include an elevator, fitness center, and laundry room.

Preference will be given to current residents of Brooklyn Community Board 3 (Bedford-Stuyvesant) and municipal employees. A percentage of units are set aside for applicants with mobility and vision/hearing disabilities.

Next, three one-bedroom and three two-bedroom apartments are available at 198 19th Street in South Slope in a newly constructed building located between 4th and 5th Avenues.

Built in 2016, the building has a total of 22 units spanning five floors, according to StreetEasy.

Rent for the one-bedroom units is $1,035 a month, while monthly rent for the two-bedrooms is $1,175.

Amenities include a roof deck, gym/recreation room, and a washer/dryer in each unit.
