Residents and confused UPS delivery guys in Brighton Beach can finally breath a sigh of relief as eight months after Superstorm Sandy, the Department of Transportation (DOT) is finally restoring some street signs lost in the storm. NY 1 is reporting that DOT workers are expected to install the signs by the end of the week.

As we previously reported, the loss of the Brighton 2nd Lane sign located at the intersection of Brighton 1st Street caused confusion and frustration for local residents. The frustration was made worse by the lack of a sign one block east at the intersection of Brighton 2nd Place.

Local Brighton resident Lenny Shtab expressed the frustration of the lack of signage to NY1.

“It is very annoying, I think this is not right. The street signs should be posted,” Shtab said.

Hopefully for Lenny’s sake, the DOT will do its job and have the signs up by the week’s end.

Anyone know of any other signs still missing from Superstorm Sandy?
