Looks Like 1410 Cortelyou Will Be A Wine/Liquor Store After All

1410 cortelyou road

Remember a few weeks back, when it wasn’t so clear whether 1410 Cortelyou Road (formerly Toy Space, between Marlborough and Rugby Roads) was going to be resurrected as an Element Beauty Lounge location or wine store? It’s now looking much more likely that the latter will be taking over the storefront.

A notice has been posted in the store window that a liquor store license application is currently pending for the address, which would allow the business to sell wine and liquor (no beer) for off-premises consumption. This is different from a wine store license that would prohibit the sale of liquor, but as the premises name on the license application includes “wines,” we’re guessing the business will carry both.

Further research shows that the license was filed on April 22. We believe the owners are both currently wine importers–one of whom owned a wine bar on Park Slope’s 5th Avenue until 2010, and one of whom is a wine educator close to the Slow Food movement with a Masters in Food Studies from NYU as well as a Diploma in Wine & Spirits–though we are waiting for confirmation.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more–and if you have any tips on 1410, don’t hesitate to send them to editor@ditmasparkcorner.com.
