LOOK! Markings Now Appear To Be Spraypainted On The Street
We noticed the other day that these LOOK! crosswalk markings on Ocean Parkway at Church Avenue appear to be newer versions of this fairly recent safety campaign from the Department of Transportation. While the first iterations of the markings appeared to be heat-applied decals, these ones seem spraypainted onto the street.
You can see the difference between the newer version in the top photo, and this version, located further south on Ocean Parkway. This first version of the decal has raised some eyebrows in Park Slope and elsewhere in the city, where it’s already been spotted wearing away awfully quickly from the street. Perhaps that’s why they’ve switched to a stencil and spraypaint?
