A young woman was killed on Sunday night when police say she lost control of her motorcycle while driving on the Belt Parkway. Jasmine Calix, 21, of McDonald Avenue was ejected from her bike after it skidded near Knapp Street. She was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Friends have taken to Jasmine’s Facebook page to share memories and photos. In addition to her own photos of her motorcycle — the avid rider was a member of the Bikers of Brooklyn Riding Club — friends note that she loved riding and that she “always brought a smile to the table and to your friends.”

Jasmine worked at Coney Island Bar & Grill on Surf Ave, where the staff is mourning the loss by celebrating their friend and coworker with a buffet tonight at 7:30pm that features her favorites: “Jasmine’s” famous meatloaf, lemon pepper chicken, bacon cheddar mash, and roasted corn on the cob and sour cream salad. All proceeds and any donations will go to her family.

Our deepest condolences to her family and friends.
