Neighbor Takes Fatal Fall in SoHo
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Adrien Zamora, who passed away on Thursday afternoon after police say he fell from the scaffolding of a construction project he was working on at 450 Broome Street in Manhattan.
Police say the 28-year-old was a resident of Westminster Road near Cortelyou. The Times reports:
According to a preliminary investigation by the Department of Buildings, he appeared to have lost his footing while doing renovation work on the site, an agency spokeswoman said, adding that the location had all the necessary permits.
We’ll try to find out about any memorials, or other ways neighbors can pay their respects. If you know of anything that you’d like to share, please mention it in the comments, or email us at ditmasparkcorner@gmail.com, and we’ll let the neighborhood know.
UPDATE: According to the Daily News, it was Adrien’s first day on the job with Bras-Al Construction, and he apparently reached over the railing of the scaffolding, not wearing a harness, when he fell. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
