Local Considerations For This Easter Holiday
For our neighbors who haven’t yet finalized their Easter plans this year, here are a few notes on having your gathering in or around the neighborhood:
- The Flatbush Tompkins Congregational Church (424 E 19th Street at Dorchester Road) is holding four events this weekend–one tonight at 7:30pm, one tomorrow at 8:30pm, and two on Sunday (7:30am and 10:45am). See full details on Holy Week services here.
- Stems Flower Shop (1118 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads, 347-240-5850) will be assembling bouquets and other arrangements in $35, $50, and $70 sizes, plus they’re happy to deliver to your door. Call to preorder or stop in from 10am-5pm Saturday or 10am-5pm Sunday–or whenever they run out!
- Hamilton’s (2826 Fort Hamilton Parkway, 718-438-0488) will be serving a special holiday lamb stew for Easter brunch and dinner. Ox Cart (583 Argyle Road on the corner of Newkirk Avenue, 718-284-0005) will also be holding Easter brunch, and of course your favorite other local brunch spots will be serving yummy grub. Local bakeries John’s (1322 Cortelyou Road on the corner of Rugby Road, 718-287-6799) and La Nueva Union (1114 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads, 718-284-7218) are great for cookies and cakes as always.
- Our neighbors in the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra are playing a Russian Easter Overture at the Brooklyn Museum (200 Eastern Parkway between Underhill and Washington Avenues) this Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $10 for seniors and museum members, and $18 for everyone else.
Have a lovely holiday!
