Local Baseball Players Advance

Congratulations to the SFX Huskies 10U Travel Team! They won the PONY sectional tournament in Bergen Beach over the weekend and advance to the next round in Swansea, Massachusetts starting on Friday July 20.

“I’m so proud of our team. The boys worked very hard all year to improve and they deserved to win this tournament,” said Coach Johnny Ceffalio.

If they continue winning, two Ditmas Park boys will be traveling the country following a Little League World Series-like bracket. I caught up with the two local Huskies to see what they have to say about the tournament and baseball.

What position do you play?
Johnston: 3rd base
Henry: 2nd base

Who is your favorite team?
Johnston: Yankees
Henry: Mets

Are you excited about going to Massachusetts?
Johnston: Yes!
Henry: Of course!
